Tab Winborne’s passion for architecture and construction began at an early age, when he and his family built their dream home by hand in Carova Beach, NC. Working alongside his parents and brother, Tab gained firsthand experience that sparked a lifelong love for design and construction.  He was fortunate to have two strong role models who helped shape his path early on: his uncle, an architect, and a neighbor, who was a local builder. Tab began working with them at just 11 years old, and by his teens, he was already framing and trimming out custom homes for builders in the area. That early hands-on experience laid the foundation for a lifelong career in the construction industry.​  

     Tab went on to study at Old Dominion University, where he earned degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering. After graduating ODU, he had the opportunity to work on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel parallel expansion—one of the largest infrastructure projects in the world at the time.​  ​

​​​​​     Since then, Tab has completed over 200 major projects in the OBX 4x4 area and continues to take pride in building for friends, neighbors, and families in his hometown. He has also played a key role in the construction of the Carova Beach Park and remains actively involved in community projects across the region.  ​​
