Tab's passion for architecture and construction began at an early age, when he and his family built their dream home by hand in Carova Beach, NC. Working alongside his parents and brother, he gained firsthand experience that sparked a lifelong love for design and construction.

 

Two strong role models helped shape his path early on: his uncle, an architect, and a neighbor who was a local builder. Tab began working with them at just 11 years old, and by his teens he was already framing and trimming out custom homes for builders in the area, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in construction.

 

He went on to study at Old Dominion University, earning degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering. After graduating, he worked on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel parallel expansion — one of the largest infrastructure projects in the world at the time.
